Service & Repairs Terms & Conditions
IMPORTANT: You are responsible for ensuring that you have backed up all data on your computer before we access your system.
Redhouse Computers will not be responsible for any loss of data including; pictures, documents or other digital information and programs on your computer.
If you have not made any backups of your data then we can do this for you as an additional service. Please inform us as soon as possible to arrange for your data to be backed up before we start work on your computer. Please note, mechanical failure of your hard disk or other components inside your computer can occur without warning during our diagnostics stage. Virus and malware infections can also damage your data and could lead to unpredictable and irreversible changes and could result in data loss / damage.
For some jobs we may need to re-install your operating system, and this involves wiping your hard disk clean and re-installing the operating system back to the point when your computer was first purchased. In this instance data will be wiped. We will contact you prior to doing this but if you require your data to be backed up prior to the wipe and restored back to your computer once the operating system has been re-installed please let us know. There will be additional charges associated with this service.
Although we do not have specific knowledge of your computer configuration, we will endeavour to minimise disruption to your system as much as we can but we cannot be responsible for any unforeseen issues that may arise from any of our services. Please note that if your computer system or equipment is under manufacturer warranty our services may affect manufacturer warranty validity. It is your responsibility to assess the effect of our services on any manufacturer's warranty.
We would please request/ask you not to call us after your item has been booked in. Doing so interrupts the engineers and slows down repairs. We hold Customer Service in the highest regard, we will contact you the moment your item is ready for collection.
There is a minimum booking-in fee for any non warranty or third party work carried out (currently £30). The booking-in fee is non-refundable.
The estimated completion date is normally a minimum pickup date during busy periods.
Redhouse Computers hold no responsibility for third party software and hardware. This includes damage by viruses and malicious software. Redhouse Computers holds no responsibility for machines that fail during repair as problems can occur through no fault of our own on various components at any time.
Any computer that has been left abandoned for over 3 months will be recycled or dispose of if prior arrangements have not been made. We will contact you once the item is ready for collection and at 3 months should we not hear from you giving a final warning that gives you 1 week to collect before the item is recycled or disposed; this will mean your data will be wiped. It is important that you check your details on your receipt at the time of booking to ensure that we have your correct contact details. We will not be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the details provided.
Your data and what we do with it
When booking in your item or making a sale we store the following information:
Name, Address, Contact Number, Email Address, Password Details, Repair Information, Sale Details.
Information we do not keep:
Credit / Debit Card details, Bank Details.
What we do with your personal information
We keep your personal information to;
- To identify you as an individual in regard to services undertaken in our premises
- Assist us on hardware repairs and new sale warranties.
- Sales analysis to help us understand buying trends.
Your rights under the GDPR (General Data Protection Requlation 2018)
- You may contact us and request confirmation of the personal information of you we store.
- If you wish to request this please email sales@redhouse-computers.co.uk and we will verify with a follow-up phone call to verify your identity.
- We have a two-stage security question process which will need to be passed before we discuss your in-store or phone inquiry when requesting an update on your new sale or repair.
- You may request that we completely destroy all trace of your data.
By signing on the service booking in sheet & making payment for the booking in fee you agreed to the above terms and conditions.
