Service & Repairs Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking in a device, requesting services, or paying a booking/diagnostic fee with RedHouse Computers, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

2. Customer Data Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring all data is backed up before any work is carried out. Redhouse Computers will not be responsible for any loss, corruption, or damage to data including but not limited to documents, photos, software, or personal files. Data backup services may be available for an additional charge if requested before work begins. By submitting your device, you authorise Redhouse Computers to access the device, its software, and any data where reasonably required to diagnose and carry out repairs.

3. Diagnostics & Booking Fee

A minimum booking-in/diagnostic fee (currently £30) applies to all non-warranty repairs. This fee is non-refundable and covers inspection and diagnostic time regardless of
whether the repair proceeds.

4. Quotations

Any price provided before inspection is an estimate based on the information supplied. If additional faults or parts are identified during diagnostics; we will contact the customer before proceeding with further work or costs.

5. Operating System Reinstallation

Certain repairs may require reinstalling the operating system, which may erase all data from the device. Customers will be informed before this is carried out where possible.

6. Repair Warranty

Repairs carried out by Redhouse Computers include a 90-day warranty on parts supplied and fitted unless
otherwise stated. The warranty covers only the specific repair performed and
does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, software issues, or unrelated faults. The warranty becomes void if the device is opened or repaired
by a third party. No warranty is provided on parts supplied by the customer.

7. Manufacturer Warranty

Repairs carried out by Redhouse Computers may void any manufacturer or third-party warranty. It is the customer’s responsibility to verify warranty implications before authorising repair.

8. Parts Used

Repairs may include the use of new genuine parts, refurbished parts, or compatible aftermarket parts. Customers requiring genuine manufacturer parts must request this before repair, and additional costs may apply.

9. Liability

While reasonable care is taken during all repairs, Redhouse Computers cannot be held responsible for additional component failure that occurs due to pre-existing faults, age of components, or previous damage. Certain repairs such as liquid damaged devices, heavily damaged devices, or devices previously repaired by third parties carry
inherent risk. Where a repair is deemed high-risk (including liquid damage or board-level repairs), we will inform you where possible. By proceeding, you accept that the device may become beyond economical repair.

10. Payment

Full payment must be made before or on collection of the repaired device. Redhouse Computers reserves the right to retain devices until payment is received in full.

11. Device Collection, Abandoned Items &
Storage Fees

Customers will be notified once the device is ready for collection. Devices must be collected within 7 days of completion unless prior arrangements are made in writing. Failure to collect the device within 7 days of completion of our work will lead to additional cost of £2.50 per day towards storage. Devices left uncollected for more than 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be recycled, disposed of, or sold to recover repair and storage costs. Any data remaining on abandoned devices will be permanently erased or destroyed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

12. Privacy & Data Protection

Redhouse Computers stores customer details including name, address, contact details, and repair information solely for
service records and warranty purposes. We do not store credit or debit card information. All personal data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

13. Agreement

By signing the repair booking form and paying the diagnostic/booking fee, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
